Wildlife Garden, Rousdon
This small garden was nothing but a sad, empty lawn and barren paved terrace. The brief was to bring life to a blank space with cottage style planting that kept wildlife busy and the client entertained.
We modified the existing gate and terrace to accommodate planting pockets and curved paths. These wind around planting beds bulging with flowers, edibles and multi stem trees. Storage is cleverly worked into the design, sometimes doubling up as extra seating and raised beds.
The garden is gently enclosed and framed by bespoke metal screens which are dressed with climbing plants. The rusted metal, smooth pebbles and sun-bleached larch all nod to the gardens proximity to the sea and are sympathetic to the home’s setting.
